Student Volunteer Program

The student volunteer organization is critical in making NIME 2012 a wonderful and successful experience. At the same time we hope the volunteer program offers a great opportunity to see how such a unique conference is realized and we are very much looking forward to have students join us! In order to qualify you must have had student status for at least one semester during the academic year before NIME. We are more than happy to accept undergrad, graduate, and PhD students. We need friendly enthusiastic volunteers to help us out.

Applications open today and we hope to finalize the selection by April 8. If you plan to apply, do not register yet. Once you have applied to the student volunteer program, early registration fees are guaranteed for you.

Benefits:

  • We waive the registration fee
  • Receives free NIME staff T-Shirt
  • Access to refreshments and snacks for volunteers

Expectations:

  • Expected to help for 12 hours on tasks assigned by the organizing team
  • Be on time for assigned tasks

We will try hard to avoid conflict between the student's presentation obligations and their assignments.

Selection process:

  • Email: nime-volunteers@eecs.umich.edu
  • Lottery: Selection announced by April 10. We anticipate to offer up to 19 volunteer opportunities.
  • Waitlist: People who are not selected during the lottery stay waitlisted. You can ask to be added to the waitlist after April 8.

We are looking forward to meeting all of you!
